2.2 Construction of modern Hospital & supply of equipments and drugs • One modern zonal hospital that improved access for referral services to more
than 900,000 people is recently inaugurated and made operational in the
southern zone of Tigrai
• 992 Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA), Community Health Agents (CHA) and
Influential Village Mothers (IVM) trained and equipped. Refresher courses given
to 69 experienced Traditional Birth Attendants to assist women of childbearing
age, to have access to prenatal care, and referral of problem pregnancies. • 6,000 out of school youth, a hard to reach group, educated by peer educators
through their own drama, pamphlets & posters to raise their awareness on
HIV/AIDS infection. 2.5 Rural Water Supply • Nine village water wells augmented and protected from contamination or
